Teenagers are notoriously hard to shop for – something is cool one day and completely lame the next. It’s never fun getting a horrible sweater from your aunt, but getting a boring gift card isn’t much better.
Zumiez, a national mall retailer of teen action-sports apparel, wanted to redefine gift-card giving in a way that fit the quirkiness of the brand. The result was a series of light-hearted and interactive gift cards that were anything but an average piece of plastic with money on it. To this day, it’s one of the most memorable and talked-about pieces Zumiez has produced.
